Apple macOS Ventura Compatibility

Mac OS 13 Ventura

UPDATE 11/23/2022

Vectorworks 2023 SP2 - Vectorworks is fully compatible with Ventura.

Known issues: Redshift GPU rendering shows a long pause when used for the first time in each session, then proceeds normally thereafter. Redshift GPU is enabled on high-performance GPUs such as M-series and Intel AMD 5600/5800. This problem will be corrected in a future Service Pack.

UPDATE 10/28/2022

Vectorworks 2023 SP1 – With the final release of macOS 13 Ventura, we have found a long pause the first time Renderworks or Redshift rendering is used on computers that qualify for Redshift GPU. These include M-series and Intel AMD 5600/5800 Macs. After this pause, rendering operates normally. The delay happens with each session. We are working with Apple and Maxon to resolve this issue in a future Service Pack.

UPDATE 10/25/2022

Current status for macOS 13 Ventura Release:

  • Vectorworks 2023 SP1 -With the final release of macOS 13 Ventura, we have found a significant issue with Redshift keeping Cineware from launching, which disables all Renderworks features and textures. Our QA team is still testing, and we will fully report our findings soon.
  • Vectorworks 2022 SP5 - no known issues

UPDATE 10/24/2022

The current status for macOS 13 Ventura Release Candidate (RC) 2:

  • Vectorworks 2023 SP1 - no known issues
  • Vectorworks 2022 SP5 - no known issues

At this time, Vectorworks is fully compatible with no known issues to report. As soon as the official public release of Ventura is available TODAY, we will install and continue testing to ensure Vectorworks 2022 and 2023 latest versions are fully compatible. As always, we would still recommend that users wait a few days before installing in case any new issues are identified that were not found in RC 2.

UPDATE 9/26/2022

With the latest beta release of Ventura on 9/21/2022, we find buttons and text clipped in multiple locations. We expect a patch from Apple; otherwise, we have a fix ready to be released in the next service pack for versions 2022 and 2023 of Vectorworks.

UPDATE 9/9/2022

With the latest release of the macOS Ventura beta, some issues were introduced. Customers will experience crashes when opening/closing files and other actions that can cause our view and mode bar to refresh. The problems have been reported to Apple, and we are working with them to identify a resolution for Vectorworks 2022.

These issues only affect Vectorworks 2022. However, these issues are not affecting the upcoming release of Vectorworks 2023.
